Our Strategic Goals for the First Year
We’ve developed a comprehensive one-year strategy for 2025, to guide our efforts in raising awareness, building alliances, and creating meaningful impact.
Here’s a brief overview of our goals for the first year:
Raise Awareness of AI Risks to Children
- Highlight the dangers of inappropriate content from AI chatbot ‘companions.’
- Draw attention to emerging psychological risks posed by grief-bots.
- Raise awareness of the growing threat of AI-generated CSAM and its implications.
Build an Alliance for Impact
- Unite experts, educators, and advocates to amplify the message and foster collective action.
- Foster collaboration among stakeholders to create unified progress on child safety and AI governance.
- Strengthen partnerships that prioritise innovation in ethical AI practices and shared solutions.
How We Will Achieve This
- Content Creation: Publish thought-provoking articles and collaborate with experts to explore critical AI-related topics.
- Expert Engagement: Conduct interviews with leading professionals to share insights and solutions.
- Awareness Campaigns: Use social platforms to engage with parents, educators, and the broader community.
- Alliance Building: Invite experts and advocates to contribute their voices and join our mission.
We have defined key activities within each strand of activity, and defined metrics for success.
At the end of Year One we will:
- Assess progress toward raising awareness of AI risks to children.
- Evaluate the growth and impact of the alliance, including member contributions and engagement.
- Review content performance and community feedback to identify areas for improvement.
- Define priorities and refine objectives for Year Two, building on the momentum and lessons learned.

SAIFCA Statement on Existential Risks from AI
The Safe AI for Children Alliance (SAIFCA) acknowledges the potential for catastrophic and extinction-level outcomes from advanced future AI. While SAIFCA is focused on addressing near-term risks to children from AI and some longer-term societal risks that will impact children, we support the efforts of those who are focused on raising awareness about these broader challenges.
SAIFCA Director, Tara Steele, while also focused primarily on risks to children, also conducts independent work to increase understanding of catastrophic risks from AI, complementing the Alliance’s mission. For more information on this work, please visit Tara's website.
