Announcing SAIFCA’s AI Superhero Competition!
Unleash Your Creativity: Design an AI Superhero and Shape the Future!
Are you ready to inspire the next generation to think big about AI? The Safe AI for Children Alliance is excited to announce our latest creative competition for children: the AI Superhero Challenge!
We’re inviting children aged 7–14 to design their very own AI-themed superhero. This superhero can either protect children from one or more AI risks or use AI-powered abilities to tackle real-world challenges.
The possibilities are endless, and we can’t wait to see the incredible ideas children come up with!
Why Join the AI Superhero Challenge?
This competition is more than just a fun creative activity - it’s an opportunity to:
- Learn About AI Risks and Opportunities: Encourage children to think critically about the role of AI in our lives.
- Showcase Creativity and Innovation: Inspire original and imaginative ideas.
- Shape the Conversation on AI Safety: Submissions received by 3rd February will help inform SAIFCA Director Tara Steele as she prepares to share insights with attendees at the prestigious International Association for Safe and Ethical AI conference in Paris.
How It Works
Children can choose one of two missions for their superhero:
- Protect against AI Risks: Design a superhero who defends children from AI challenges. Examples could be privacy breaches, misinformation, or deepfakes - it's up to you.
- Use AI for Good: Create a superhero who uses AI to solve any real-world problem, such as combating climate change or improving healthcare.
Key Details
- Launch Date: Monday 13th January 2025
- Submission Deadline: Friday 28th February 2025
- Note: Submissions received by 3rd February will help inform insights shared at the Paris conference.
- Categories:
- Ages 7 - 9: Submit a drawing and a short description about your superhero's mission (50–100 words).
- Ages 10 - 14: Submit a drawing and a more detailed short story or description (150–500 words).
- Prizes: Winners will receive:
- A digital LEGO gift card, redeemable internationally.
- A personalised digital certificate of achievement.
- A feature on the SAIFCA website.
How to Enter
- Draw your superhero and write your description or story (see age criterea).
- Send your entry as a JPEG, PNG, or PDF file to competition@safeaiforchildren.org.
Your writing can be included in a separate attachment, or in the body of the email. - Be sure to include your name, age, and a contact email (with parental permission).

Spread the Word
As children brainstorm their superhero ideas, we encourage parents and teachers to have conversations about AI risks and benefits. Discussing these topics can help spark creativity and provide valuable context for their entries.
